7-10 PM Hood Museum of Art We are borrowing the Hood Museum of Art to stage a fabulous show of digital arts work from students across campus. Part of the Made at Dartmouth Series.
The 5th Annual Dartmouth Digital Arts eXpo (DAX) showcases student digital arts work from across campus. Digital arts work is a growing new area that combines art with technology in creative and innovative ways. DAX exhibitions include animation, interactive installations, digital music, architecture, 3D printing and fabrication, sculpture, and photography. We are also featuring a Creative Turing Test where we pit artists and writers against a computer to see if we can tell them apart. All audience members are invited to vote for the music, poetry and journalism you think is made by a person. There will be a dance party from 9-10 with music selected by either a DJ or a computer algorithm. Will you know which is which?
Sponsored by the Provost's Office, The Neukom Institute, The Computer Science Department, The Digital Arts Programs, The Digital Musics Program. Additional support from Film and Media Studies, Studio Art, The DALI Lab, Music Department, Sonic Arts, Theater, Thayer Engineering.
Events are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted.
