Dartmouth Expert on Aegean Bronze Age Honored by Uppsala

Jeremy Rutter, Sherman Fairchild Professor Emeritus in the Humanities and Professor Emeritus of Classical Studies, recently received an honorary doctorate from Uppsala University in Sweden recognizing his contributions to archaeology and his mentorship of more than two generations of scholars.

Uppsala and Dartmouth are members of the Matariki Network of Universities, a consortium of seven international institutions. The network, which Dartmouth co-founded in 2010, facilitates collaboration and the exchange of knowledge and resources among its members. In 2011, Uppsala's Faculty of Languages awarded an honorary doctorate to Donald Pease, Ted and Helen Geisel Third Century Professor in the Humanities and Professor English and Comparative Literature.
