Would you like to learn about spending a Fall or Spring term at the American University of Kuwait?  The Dartmouth College-American University of Kuwait (AUK) Internship Program gives Dartmouth students a unique leave term opportunity to be integrally involved in helping foster a new liberal arts university in a key part of the world.  Since it began in 2005, twenty-eight Dartmouth students have held the ten-week internships, which take place during the spring or fall terms.

Dartmouth interns work in various offices and/or departments according to their interests and the University’s needs.  Past interns have worked in the Office of Student Life, the Biology Department, the Writing Center, Computer Science and the Intensive English Program, to name a few.  The AUK program administrator works closely with each person to match him or her with the appropriate offices and/or departments before they arrive.  Interns may also study Arabic, deepen their understanding of the Middle East and/or work with individual faculty members on research projects. They form lasting relationships and join a growing group of Dartmouth and AUK students who have had this distinctive cross-cultural opportunity.
